IS EMAIL OUTDATED?

I thought I was the cool guy because I knew how to use Word, Excel and Powerpoint.  I could email and Google with the best.  My daughter used to think I was a real computer geek, but lately I'm starting to wonder if I might be living in the past.  Yes, I still use email.

First my daughter asked me to go to her page on DeviantART and check out her photography and what I found was something that was truly foreign to my senses.  She has hundreds of her original photos for sale, messages from people all over the world, music, comments and tons of other stuff.  I was baffled how my little girl could do this (she's always going to be my little girl).

Then a business colleague asked if I Tweet?  Looking like a deer caught in headlights, he said that these are the messages you send to each other in real time on Twitter!  God help me!!!

So I started to look at all the ways people are communicating with each other and it's absolutely astounding.  Every time you turn around another FaceBook, MySpace, LinkedIn and social network is either being updated or created. 

So I am quietly starting to explore the new ways to keep in touch with friends but it will take some time.  Maybe my daughter can help.  She always liked my chocolate chip cookies...I'll bribe her.
